After many many demands I have gone and gotten that there twitter thingy. User: willrobot if you want to see what inanity I do with it (likely not a typo).

I briefly considered getting that thing that posts the twitter to livejournal, if only to piss off Mike :) but decided against it, you can thank me for that later in the form of a bite of your cookie.

Another sign of my deteriorating moral fiber... I have begun watching Battlestar Galactica and it is very very good despite my continued hatred of the Raider redesign.

So in... er 12 days if I count that right I'm turning 37. Traditionally I have been getting coffee at Au Cocolet, but apparently they suck now and are no longer suitable for such things. I have been having a hard time finding a large place, open late, near bart, where hanging out is acceptable.

I'm thinking Forbidden Island this time, it's a weeknight so it won't be crazy and a Kona beer or two would not be a bad way to spend some time. It is kind of off the beaten path though which is sub-par.

Any other good ideas?

Well... I seem to have impulse bought a business.

Ok, more accurately me Nadja and a friend are in the process of buying a print shop. This sort of went from theoretical long term musing to an actual thing in the span of a couple whirlwind days. Things could still go horribly horribly wrong but it's looking pretty good.

This is slightly huge and slightly scary but very very cool. And we hope to have interesting opportunities for all our creative friends.

Well as some of you may have noticed Sneakattack hit it's 100th episode and went bye bye as Fleeble is off to recharge and deal with a screaming poopfactory he helped create. It may very well return in the future, but until then there is Down With Pants!

Me and my alarm clock

While we have never been best of friends, lately I have developed an interesting relationship with my alarm clock.

In recent months I have been trying (with little success) to get up earlier in order to wring a few extra moments out of the day. To this end I set my alarm for 5:00am.

At this time my sleep addled brain interprets the alarm as an elaborate board game of some kind. What I am actually doing is resetting the wake time for 15 minutes to half an hour in the future but in my mind this action has subtle and important tactical meaning and is being considered and countered by the alarm itself. The perceived complexity of this game has grown from week to week until the act of hitting the "Alarm" and "+" buttons and letting them go at the right time feels positively heroic.

Then I finally crawl to the shower (usually about 15 minutes after what would really be optimal) and tell myself that's the last morning I do that...

Until the call to battle rings once again .

Trivia Note: currently said "call" is the soundtrack to the first Urusei Yatsura movie which is so painful and sickly sweet as to strike gumdrops dead as 100 paces. I have used this CD on and off for this purpose since high school as once it goes off there is very real incentive to make it shut up.

Almost a year in the making!

As of yesterday I have finally admitted to myself that I do not have enough time to both move and finish nanowrimo, I'm trying to tell myself it's ok, but so far I don't believe me.

I'm getting up as early as I can and starting, I guess I should say... official start time noon, pizza and stuff by 2 or so, on till it's finished.

lease signed, boxes scattered hither and yon, dissaray, panic we're moving Saturday December 1st.

HELP!

Normally we move ourselves, it sucks and I hate asking other people to be part of it, but we usually have much much longer in which to do it, this time we get one day, maybe if we are lucky the evening before and some of the next but that's an unknown.

Saturday the 1st will be the main day of moving. We will be going from way too early until we are done which very very hopefully won't be way too late. The traditional Pizza and beer/soda will be in evidence.

We are located at 4001 San Leandro St. Apt. 24. and are moving to 4001 San Leandro St. Apt. 30. so as has been mapped out here by my lovely

7777 words, which looks cool but is 5556 words short of where I should be.

This week has been a busy one and when I did have time to write It was very slow going, averaging about 10 words per minute. Here's hoping I get some really good bursts in this weekend!

Speaking of this weekend I am going to test a theory that rum makes writing better by spending most of Saturday at Forbidden Island in Alameda. I plan to get there at 5 and stay until I go mad. Swing on by!

While the weekend was very rewarding it was not at all friendly to writing, Saturday and Sunday saw absolutely no words resulting in OW! I am 4080.68 words behind which is going to be a heck of a catching up, to break even today I would need 5747.35 which seems unlikely. Hopefully I will be back on track by the end of the week.

NaNoWriMo day 2

804 words today, which is pretty pitiful but I got a GREAT deal of outlining, character naming, and other behind the scenes stuff done and now I have to do some serious cleaning for the weekend.

804 is 48.24% of my daily goal which leaves me 747.34 words in debt which i hope to make up a little over the weekend. I may not be completely caught up until early next week though. Bleh! November is a cruel month to have this thing in.

I am now 5.17% of the way to 50,000 words.

NaNoWriMo 2007 begins! (and a moving warning)

So starting at midnight yesterday then continuing a bit during the day and for a couple hours after work I began with the following]

1782 Words
which is 106.92% of my daily goal and 3.56% of the entire month.
I wrote at 9.9 words per minute which is pretty slow.

I am pretty disappointed with this beginning but it still puts me 115.33 words ahead of keeping even which is something. Last year I was over a full day ahead by now and I'm going into a weekend where I will not really have the time to build a good surplus. This wouldn't be so nerve wracking except that it looks like we will be moving at the end of the month so there is going to be a lot of packing and cleaning to do. This may be a trickier month than I had hoped.

And yes... moving... only about 25 feet or so but it's still going to be a heck of a production, we will put out pleading promises of pizza and beer before too long.

Well remember that silly little pretend radio show I was invited to be part of a while ago? The one that became something kind of official, then moved to pirate radio, then got too pirate for pirate radio so moved to the intertubes? The one that founded it's own internet radio station and got a bunch of other people to join?

So... Burning man came and went, a hard but rewarding year, I have ideas IDEAS!

I got back to the wonderful news that our paychecks had not been printed and that there was no real date that they would be. This quickly turned into the possibility that they simply would not exist.

We got bailed out on that paycheck by some investors but just in time for our next paychecks to not be printed... again with no guarantee they ever would be.

To make that story short, I have a new job, I got my paycheck (yay having a labor lawyer in the family!) and everything is back to... er... what I will call for lack of a better term, Normal.

Weddings! So many weddings! this weekend will be week three in a marathon wedding going... marathon. Lots of good food, good drink, awesome sharing of a very special time with people I adore.

None of you are allowed to get married for at least two weeks! I need recharge time!
